Convenience is a selling point of Amy Kremer's new business,
Princess and Pirate Parties. Krember of Shawnee opened the
birthday business last fall to help parents plan and run their child's
birthday party. Kremer creates a custom theme, provides costumes, gift
bags and invitations. She even takes care of the thank you notes.

Kremer became partners with Ruth Johaningsmeir, founder of
Princess and Pirate Parties Inc. “Ruth spent years developing and refining the business,” she
said. “I liked the idea that all of the bugs had been worked
out.” Parties can be for up to 100 children. Customers have two
options: hosted parties or do-it-yourself parties, which start at
about $50.
